Summer Beach Mom Body with Essential Oils

Okay, Hot Mamas, it’s time to get that body ready for the beach!

From top to bottom, I’ve got the tools and recipes that every woman needs to not only prep that bod for the beach, but to also keep it in top condition all summer long!

Let’s start at the top with your luxurious mane…or maybe not.  Has it lost its luster?  It’s time to give your hair a reboot from winter and amp up the shine!  Check out this recipe for Lavender Rosemary Hair Rinse.  It will help to restore the pH balance to your mane and repair any damage caused by winter styling.

GERANIUM ROSEMARY HAIR RINSE

Ingredients:

4 cups water
3 Tbsp. organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
5 drops Rosemary essential oil
5 drops Geranium essential oil

Directions:
In a large pot, boil the water to remove impurities.  Let cool to room temperature and then add the vinegar and essential oils.  Whisk together and then pour into a glass jar.  Seal tight, and shake vigorously.  Let sit for at least 2 hours (though overnight is recommended).  Strain through a cheesecloth.  When ready to use, pour a handful over your hair and massage into your scalp.  Then rinse with cool water.

Now let’s focus on the skin.  Time to get our exfoliation on, ladies.

Exfoliating not only stimulates your blood flow, but it can also improve the overall appearance of your skin.  The richness of the minerals in the Himalayan Sea Salt will help to eliminate toxins and support healthy circulation in your body while treating your skin to a rich dose of minerals.

PINK SEA SALT EXFOLIATING SCRUB

Ingredients:

1 cup finely ground Himalayan Sea Salt
1 Tbsp. organic coconut oil (refined or unrefined)
2 Tbsp. sweet almond or jojoba oil
1 Tbsp. castile soap
20 drops Grapefruit essential oil
2 drops Peppermint or Spearmint essential oil

Directions:
Combine the all of the oils in a small glass bowl with a silicone spatula.  Add the soap and salt and mix together.  Store in a glass jar with lid.  To use, simply scoop out a tablespoon with your fingers and massage into your body, then rinse clean!

Now, let’s top that baby-smooth skin off with a rich, moisturizing body butter perfect for ALL of your post-shaving needs (ahem, yes…ALL areas.)

WHIPPED MOISTURIZING BODY BUTTER

Ingredients:

½ c. shea butter

¼ c. cocoa butter or mango butter

½ c. organic refined coconut oil (unrefined if you want a coconutty fragrance)

½ c. jojoba oil

15 drops Lavender essential oil

3 drops Melaleuca essential oil

Directions:

Melt all ingredients except essential oils in a double boiler, stirring until all are completely melted.  Remove from heat and let cool slightly.  Stir in essential oils.  Move bowl to fridge and let cool until just hardening, but still soft.  (Looking slightly opaque instead of transparent.)  Use a hand or stand mixer to whip for appx. 10 minutes until fluffy.  Return to fridge to set for about 15 minutes.  Store in an air-tight glass jar and use as you would regular body butter.  Slight melting may occur if your ambient temperature goes above 75 degrees, but you can re-whip if it does melt!

And for the finishing touches, let’s rid those feet of the unsightly callouses and winter to make them sandal-pretty for summer.  Use the Himalayan Sea Salt Scrub from above to massage away the dead-skin build-up and then treat with this amazing Peppermint Foot Mask to protect against sandal odor and give you frisky and fresh summer feet!

PEPPERMINT FOOT MASK

Ingredients:

½ c. plain organic Greek yogurt
2 Tbsp. organic raw honey
8-10 drops fractionated coconut oil
1 stalk organic celery
5 drops Peppermint essential oil
3 drops Melaleuca essential oil

Directions:

Grate the celery and drain excess moisture in a paper towel.  Add to the remaining ingredients in a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.  To use, sit by the bathtub and apply the mask to the entirety of your feet with your fingers or a scrub brush.  Let sit 15-20 minutes before rinsing off.

Top your feet off with some body butter when you are done, and voila!  Your mom bod is prepped for summer!
