Hey, this is Dr. Mariza. I’m here to share with you the benefits of one of the most powerful superfoods on the market today, and a superfood that you should really be using every single day. And that is matcha green tea. Now, many of you have been hearing about it for the last year or so, but a lot of people don’t know that matcha green tea has actually been around for over 900 years, predominantly being used in Japan for its powerful antioxidant properties and really incredible elixir of keeping people healthy.
So what I want to do is I want to cue into some of the most powerful antioxidants and benefits of this really wonderful and brightly green superfood. Now, a little bit about me is that I’ve had an opportunity to study antioxidants and their powerful ability to heal on a cellular level, when I had the opportunity to write our first book, The Antioxidant Counter. So here it is. And this is really exploring all of the best foods that have the highest level of antioxidants that work for our body. Now, what we’ve found in the last year or two when matcha came onto the scene is that it’s actually considered one of the most powerful, if not most powerful, superfood on the market today. And that’s because it is actually 10 times more powerful in terms of antioxidants than green tea, 60 times more powerful than spinach, and a lot of other superfoods that I recommend on a day-to-day basis.
So what are the benefits of matcha green tea? The first thing that I love, the first benefit that really matters to me is that matcha green tea has the ability to provide sustainable energy throughout the day. It’s not like caffeine jitters, or something you would experience when you drink a Rockstar or a Red Bull or even a double mocha, something like that. No, it’s designed… because this type of caffeine works with antioxidants, it is a sustainable caffeine that provides what they call an alert calm. That’s why this matcha tea was actually utilized through meditation for hundreds of years, because it created this really incredible, sustainable energy experience.
Now, other ways that this wonderful superfood is bringing the business in terms of benefits is it helps to support the heart, it helps to balance blood glucose levels, it helps to support the liver, and it helps to lower cholesterol. It also helps to boost mood, boost the ability to concentrate better, and it is wonderful in helping to boost the immune system and preventing chronic conditions such as cancer, autoimmune conditions, and Type 2 diabetes. Catechins are these really powerful type of polyphenols that go into the body and work on a really incredible level all throughout the body. Now, the reason why it’s bringing such a punch as well is actually the way that it’s created. So you’re not going to ever see a tea that is this powdery and this super green. So if you can take a look, it’s this fine powdered green. And the reason for that is they actually, after they harvest the leaves, they literally use the entire leaf and grind it down to a fine powder. This is why we’re able to basically take on all of the benefits of that particular plant, and bring it straight to you into your home.
