Episode Summary:

On this episode of Essentially You, we’re diving into one of my all-time favorite topics, self-care. This is one of my favorite topics because I continue to learn more about it every day, and it really has had a huge impact on my life, along with thousands of other women.

As women, we are raised to believe that our measure of success is how much we do for other people. However, in doing this we forget about the most important person of all – ourselves! Taking care of yourself is the key to your success, and can impact your health, energy, relationships, and so much more.

We need to stop believing that self-care is selfish because it is not. By taking 30 minutes a day to recharge our batteries and get our mind and body in the right place, we will be able to be more productive, more successful, and all around happier people.

Energy is everything, and we need to be fueled by our own happiness and fill our own cups first so that we can provide those we love with the same great energy. Taking care of ourselves means we are at our best when we need to take care of others, which is really our goal and nurturers.

Let me help you get started by sharing some of my favorite morning rituals as well as daily habits to help you create the day that you want based on your needs and priorities. Find out how giving compliments and expressing gratitude can not only affect your mood but also those around you. Dive into what makes a productive morning routine, and how to continue to use self-care practices throughout the day so you are putting your best energy forward.

It’s time to stop being someone who doesn’t even have 5 minutes to go to the bathroom alone, and start being the successful, happy and positive woman that you have been neglecting inside of you! Let’s get started.

Quotes:

“The emotional and physical energy you create from daily self-care shows up in how you approach everything else in your life, including your success.” (1:35)

“If you are feeling guilty about self-care I want you to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, ‘do I have the energy that I need to show up in the world and be the person that I was meant to be?’” (3:35)

“You get to tune into as much joy and energy as you like. It’s all about shifting that belief and opening doors for more choices. Once you step into that higher energy you will begin to shift, and that includes your health, relationships, and so much more.” (16:21)
